Some suggestions

Hey man, I'm a professional programmer and these are my thoughts. Not bad. But the following are things to fix:

Make the graphics less pixelated, even if it means sacrificing size or the amount of things on the screen.

Nobody will want to play a whole game with just the imperial march playing, develope a soundtrack.

Make the gunfire of your ship visible, i barely knew I was shooting.

Make the ships lasers click and dragable, in the movies they had rapid fire, the user should have the same.

Make sure the ship doesn't leave the screen when they move the mouse to extremes.

If you need help with any of these algorithims or anything feel free to e-mail me.

Play???

Ok, so maybe there is no point in making this flash, maybe it's an experiment, fine. But why post it? It's a neat tech demo, that's about it. You should nto be posting tech demo's here. I made a graphing util in Flash for a company, but I didn't post it. Also, why the fuck does the button say play? It's not a game, there is NOTHING to play. Welcome to Blamsville, population... you.

Blamsville? wtf are you talking about? do you have any idea how anything works? once this makes it past judgement stage it CANNOT be blammed. Sorry to disapoint you.

Corporate Assholes

Ok, Miniclip.com is an established site. They don't need to put their shit on newgrounds, they come here and post games made on a corporate budget and take away credit from the underground developers who this site is for. You don't see homestarrunner posting their new episodes every week. I mean, I am currently working with no budget and no technology to bring 2 episode ones of upcoming series to this site, but I know if that week miniclip spent 3 grand on some POS game my series will never make it. IT's pathetic. Go HOME!
If you guys are interested in underground animations and stuff check my profile in October for Valor: Strenght of the Spirit, Episode 1: Bodies from the Sky which will be a light hearted animation in an American anime style. And in December I'll be brining Fist Full of Lead, another American anime style flash with a darker plotline. But please, support the underground not corporate america.

Also, since it seems any time a decent trailer pops up the series never comes to be none of my series will have trailers.

Ok, good news/bad news

Ok, first up, my hat is off to you. I don't know how you did it but that 3D engine is amazing. The graphics propel this to the pinnacle of flash programming. Sadly though, there are a few things missing. Like crosshairs. Also, while the engine is tight the level design is kinda poor. But hell, as a showcase of programming talent this shines.

Lost My Beamer?

Yo, I had a beamer, went out bout a second car, a Nissan, my Beamer dissappeared.

Horrible game with faulty AI

Ok, this does not deserve the main page. As with anywhere else good graphics can't save this game. The enemy AI is terrible, they pop-up for like one frame, in which you can't possibly shoot them but they can shoot you like 20 times. For those of us with kick ass computers even setting the quality to high still leaves us with trying to shoot speed-freak cowboys. This game brings almost nothing to the table. Sorry to diss since I am working on a game right now, but this is a huge bug that needs fixing. I'm actually working on a 2D matrix shooter so I know that enemy speed is a bitch to get perfect, but this is so far from perfect it's not funny. Sorry bro, but it has a lot of promise.

capn-g responds:

I'll admit the "whack-a-mole" style enemies is a bit off, but I've got the problem more or less resolved, so it won't be a problem in the future. As for the quality, I purposely set it to low so as to keep the game speed up.

Making your own game? Here's some advice: Everyone's computer sucks except yours. That's how you have to think because if you make something and it runs slow on your computer, it'll be hell for anyone else.

Very nice

I dig it, stylistically it's cool. Although, sometimes the colors escape the lines, I don't know if that was a style choice or what, but it kinda looked muffed. Ohterwise i liked the character designs and all, reminded me of EartWorm Jim.

Fat boys are coming.
